SLURP Summer Recipe

Our absolute recommendation for the hot summer days: Cold Brew coffee! Cold brew allows the different flavours and nuances in coffee to shine, so especially interesting choices for cold brew are light roasts that have various fresh and fruity flavours.

cold brew

Here's how to brew 1 liter of cold brew Coffee

Brewing time: 12 hours
Final quantity of coffee: 1 liter
Grinding: Coarser than for regular filter coffee. We recommend a French Press or Steap setting.
Ratio of coffee to water: 150g coffee, 1l water
You will also need: Two 2 liter containers/bottles, a metal sieve, and filter paper or gauze

  • Put the coffee and the water into a container.
  • Let it sit in the fridge preferably for at least 12 hours.
  • Strain the coffee into another container using a sieve and filter paper or gauze.
  • Your Cold brew is ready!

Tips:

  • Cold brew coffee will stay good for approximately a week in the fridge when stored in an airtight container.
  • You can also pour the brewed coffee into a French Press and press the plunger down immediately to filter the bigger pieces of coffee out. Afterwards you can pour the coffee through filter paper to remove the very last coffee grinds.
  • You can add milk and flavor syrups according to your own taste.
  • On a warm day, adding ice will keep your drink cold for longer.
