Kenya Fram AB dark roast
Pirkanmaan Paahtimo’s orders are roasted and shipped fresh to customers once a week. Orders placed no later than 12 noon on Monday are dispatched from the roastery on Wednesday. Domestic delivery by post takes 2-4 working days.
This raw coffee won the Helsinki Coffee Festival’s Filter Coffee of the Year competition in 2020. The winning coffee was roasted by Porin Paahtimo, which is part of the same company as Pirkanmaan Paahtimo. Fram’s farm is located in the Kiambu region of south-west Kenya. Coffee cultivation on the farm dates back to 1958. The farm is managed by James Kariuki. The mineral and red clay soils provide a favourable growing environment for coffee beans at an altitude of just under 2000 metres above sea level. The coffee is extremely balanced and medium acidic. The coffee has a deep berry juiciness. The flavour has acidic notes of orange and citrus, with a plummy sweetness and a liquorice aftertaste. This is not a coffee to be drunk in a hurry, as the flavours come out best when the cup has cooled.
