Colombia Rodriqo Oyuela Pink Bourbon is a specialty coffee from the Tolima region of Colombia. The coffee is produced by Rodrigo Oyuela, founder and president of the COAGROHERMOSAS community, who is known in his region for his determined and long-term work to improve coffee quality.

Rodrigo’s path to his current farm was not straightforward. Previous coffee farms suffered from poor yields due to soil and climate conditions and had to be sold. Villamaría was acquired gradually by selling his own coffee, which forced him to develop his cultivation quickly and systematically. At the same time, he developed an interest in special varieties. The seeds of the Pink Bourbon variety came from Acevedo, Huila, and they proved to be particularly suitable for the conditions in Tolima.

Coffee is grown at an altitude of approximately 1,800 meters above sea level. The farm covers 33.5 hectares, of which coffee is grown on eight hectares. There are a total of approximately 38,000 trees, mainly Pink Bourbon, Castillo and Colombia varieties. Quality starts with the picking. Only fully ripe coffee berries are accepted, and pickers are encouraged to be careful with a separate quality bonus. This is directly reflected in the purity and balance of the coffee.

The process is washed, which brings out the characteristics of the Pink Bourbon variety clearly and transparently. In the cup, the coffee is calm but multidimensional. Tropical fruitiness brings spaciousness, a black tea-like structure gives poise, cranberry adds a punchy berry flavor and the whole is completed with citrus caramel sweetness. The mouthfeel is smooth and controlled, the aftertaste is clean and long.
