Pirkanmaan Paahtimo’s orders are sent out fresh to customers once a week. Orders made by Monday midday will be sent on Wednesday. The standard delivery time in Finland is 2-4 working days.
Kirura coffee factory is located in the Abernare highlands, Kiambu Municipality, near the country’s capital Nairobi. The growing area has volcanic soils and the altitude reaches 1800 metres above sea level. Annual rainfall is high for the continent and the average temperature is 18°C. In addition to coffee growing, tea and dairy farming are also practised in Kiambu. Cow manure is used as a source of nutrients for the coffee bushes. Farmers in the area benefit from the cooperation with the Kenya Coffee Reserch Institute. This has enabled the introduction of successful and productive coffee plants in the region.
This medium-bodied coffee has a lingering berryiness. The ground coffee gives a rich, tangy aroma. Black tea, orange acidity and a very distinct sweetness of cranberry, lingonberry and blackcurrant are present in the taste!
