Haimoo Coffee Roastery – A Small Roastery, Perfect Flavour

In the lush village of Haimoo in Vihti, where forest trails intersect with old country roads and life flows at a calm pace, you’ll find Haimoo Coffee Roastery – a small but passionate micro roastery with roots stretching back more than a decade. Behind the roastery lies a deep love for coffee and craftsmanship, a love that’s present in every cup.

How It All Began
The story of Haimoo Coffee Roastery began in the late 2000s, when the world of coffee flavours first captivated its future founder, Omid Rokhsatzadeh. It started with tasting and analysing coffee, but soon roasting became just as intriguing. The very first attempts were made in an oven and later on a frying pan – curiosity and a desire to experiment guided every step.

As the hobby deepened, an espresso machine made its way into the kitchen. Later came the Aeropress and Hario Skerton, tools that even accompanied Omid on backpacking adventures in India. Over time, the idea of founding a roastery began to take shape. Although the plans were on hold for years, the dream never faded.

In 2024, everything finally clicked – it was the right time to make the dream a reality. And so, Haimoo Coffee Roastery was born.

 

Today
The roastery is located on the family’s home farm in Haimoo, which also houses a traditional juice station. This gives the roastery strong local roots – it’s a part of the village community and built on joy in doing, artisan work, and sustainability.

Although still young, Haimoo Coffee Roastery has already received recognition. In 2025, it placed third in the Limited Edition category at the Helsinki Coffee Festival and ranked in the Top 5 in the “Kahveista Parhain” (Best of Coffees) competition, which selects Finland’s top coffees.

Haimoo Coffee Roastery is more than just a place where coffee is roasted – it’s a story of passion, curiosity, and craftsmanship. The Roasting Philosophy
At Haimoo, coffee isn’t approached with engineering precision – it’s handcrafted with feeling. Every roast is an opportunity to discover new tones, nuances, and experiences. Roasting happens in small batches, with attention and curiosity – just like in the early days by the oven.

Quality is at the heart of everything: all beans are specialty grade, scoring at least 80 points on the cupping scale. The selection includes affordable and reliable “Arkipaahto” everyday coffees, exotic Single Origins that take you on a flavour journey around the world, and prized Geisha varieties. Every batch tells its own story.

 

A Message From the Roaster to the SLURP Community

“Hi SLURP friends!
I won’t sugarcoat it – I absolutely love roasting these incredible coffees on my Aillio Bullet roaster, one kilo at a time. My roasting style is to listen to what the bean needs and follow its lead; each batch is its own journey, with temperatures and roast development adapting to the story the bean wants to tell.

These beans don’t just carry flavour – they carry the passion and stories of the farmers. My goal is to bring that out in the roast, not cover it up. I generally favour lighter roast profiles, but if a bean calls for a darker profile, I follow its rhythm.

I hope the flavours surprise you and turn your morning coffee into a small adventure. I’m constantly experimenting and would love to share more – don’t hesitate to reach out and ask!
