Ellen Fontana, a strong entrepreneur, environmentalist and active member of her community, started in the specialty coffee market in 2013 and has since experienced a steady growth that has not come without challenges. “Climate adversity is something we simply have to live with. Every year there is something new to face, a new challenge,” she says. Perhaps it is for these reasons that her commitment to protecting the environment is so remarkable. Ellen is the fifth generation of coffee growers in her family and has been creating quite an impact in her region. Fazenda Fronteira has a total area of 100 hectares, 21% of which is devoted to coffee growing.
