This organic coffee, rich in history and taste, is grown under heavy shade. This method saves water and promotes a healthier environment. Shade grown coffee requires little or no chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides. The shade trees filter carbon dioxide which causes global warming, and aid in soil moisture retention which minimizes erosion.
Finca El Chorro is certified shade-grown and certified bird-friendly. The latter certificate was granted due to the preservation of more than one hundred bird varieties on the farm.
We enjoy having this coffee in our selection, as it fits perfectly for dark roasts and as its strong flavour fits perfectly with (plant)milk based coffee drinks.
