El Gigante comes from Oswaldo Suchin’s estate in the New Oriente region in Guatemala. The coffee grows at an altitude of 1560-1700m on the 24 hectare estate of El Gigante and all coffee berries there are picked by hand. The coffee is washed at the estate’s own washing station. After this, the coffee is dried in the sun on patios. This particular lot is of the Catuai variety.

The family of Oswaldo Suchin has grown coffee on the El Gigante estate for 15 years. Considering the tradition of Guatemalan coffee farming, El Gigante is fairly new. Nevertheless, the Suchins are very interested in developing their coffees’ quality and strive particularly to specialise in growing high quality coffee. The roastery Turun Kahvipaahtimo has succeeded in roasting an exceptionally splendid espresso.
