The Santa Lucia Farm started in 1997, Yiover Vargas got the farm through a process of agricultural reform in Colombia. The farm is 17 hectares of which 6 hectares are native forests. There is also a natural water source, that people at the farm take care of. There are 8 hectares of coffee planted in varieties such as Caturra, Castillo and Tambo. In the future, they are also planning on planting 4 hectares in Pink Bourbon and Geisha. Vargas leads one of the women’s coffee organizations in our region. Her three kids in their 20’s are helping her and her husband in the coffee fields.
