This coffee is processed with the own equipment of the Murithi Estate: first the peeling, then fermenting for 48h, washing and sun drying. Only the final sorting, called grading, is done elsewhere. However, the estate is in the process of acquiring their own grading equipment. The farm has about 12.000 coffee trees over an area of 7.2 hectares.
The roasters Pirkanmaan Paahtimo acquire the coffee directly from the estate, which is done in co-operation with Joonas Reinikainen from the Finnish Kahiwa Coffee. The coffee has plenty of red grapefruity acidity, a pleasant sweetness and a rose wine-like mouthfeel.
