Brazil is the biggest producer of coffee in the world. Even so, out of all coffee produced there only a small quantity is of a very high quality. Thus, the highest quality varieties from Brazil are very wanted among artisan roasters.

The Obata variety is a relatively new coffee and it has been cultivated to endure a common ailment of coffee plants, the Coffee Rust. Despite this the quality is high. In the roast from Kaffe Obscura, the coffee acquires a pleasant acidity and notes of chocolaty softness and nuts. It performs especially well as an espresso.
