The Kenya Gicherori washing station produces very high quality Kenyan coffee. Approximately 1800 small farms are growing coffee on the slopes of Mt. Kenya around an altitude of 1550 meters. The washing station receives support from an organisation that is trying to improve the relationship of farmers and coffee buyers and make it as transparent as possible. In practice they aim to improve the quality of the coffee and thus the wages of the farmers. In the roast from Inka Paahtimo, Gicherori is excellent as a fruity espresso.
