Kirjalan Kahvipaahtimo roasts coffee twice a week. Coffees ordered by 8.00 on Monday will be shipped from the roastery on Wednesday, and coffees ordered by 8.00 on Wednesday will be shipped on Friday. This light roast coffee comes from the Halo Berit washing station in the Gedeb Worka area of Yirgacheffe. Abyote Ageze and Mebrahtu Aynalem, owners of the Boledu Coffee Growers’ Association, bring together top-quality coffees from a number of smallholders in the area, for which they pay farmers a premium above the market price, provided the farmers produce a consistent and ripe berry quality. To ensure quality, the Boledu producer community works with farmers for a long time, for example by training farmers before each harvest.
